These pages allows me the opportunity to share works in progress. My goal is to share in dreams and to encourage you to seek more from the design process. Sketch, photograph, draw, storyboard and do whatever it takes to convey great ideas and concepts. "Dream with your eyes open."
This is a recent project developed in Richmond, Texas. A large masterplan with a nod to the Architects "Villa" vernacular. The property contained many large Oak and Pecan specimen trees - Cattle to the north and horses to the south. To unify the gardens, I worked to develop simple forms rich in detail. Specifically, gravel drives to preserve the softness of the country, lined by antique clay brick. Stone walls provide the sense of age and the defined movement from one space to another. The natural materials integrating with the flowing and freeform of the gardens. The hand forged iron gates were chosen with the view that each represent an opportunity for art.
